I am running for Sheriff because I have always enjoyed being a public servant. I have served the people of Washington County for most of my adult life and I want to continue to serve the people in a different capacity. I will be dedicated to the people of Washington County and strive to make a difference each and every day. I will always have an open door and be available to the people. I am a good listener and I will listen to your concerns and consider suggestions for improving services in the Dispatch Center, Sheriff’s Department and Jail. I understand no matter how good or how bad an organization may be, there will always be areas where improvements can be made. I will continue to look for ways to modernize the Sheriff’s Department to better serve the people of Washington County.

My family lives in Washington County and I want the same things for your family as I do for mine. I want our families to feel safe in our communities and our children to be safe in our schools. I will work on a partnership with all Washington County schools to make this possible. I will assist our drug task force in any way to battle the drug problem in our community and take drug dealers and drugs off the streets. I will work to seek additional means to expand on current chemical addiction programs being offered to inmates. I will also look at providing additional training for jail staff, dispatchers and deputies.

I have worked for five different sheriff administrations and have been promoted four times by Sheriffs Watson, Combs, Lyles and Newlon. I have experience in all areas of the Sheriff’s Department and my education, training and 27+ years of full time law enforcement experience would enable me to effectively run the Sheriff’s Department from day one.
