At 9:45 p.m. Thursday a jury from Orange County convicted Joshua Risinger on three counts -- murder, felony murder and arson -- in Washington Circuit Court.

Both the State of Indiana and the defense rested just after 3 p.m. Thursday and the Jury deliberates for a little more than five hours.

The state charged that Risinger set fire to his mobile home at 221 Teresa Street in Southway Villa on the night of March 14, 2017, and as a result of that fire Givan was burned alive.

The Kentucky Medical examiner who performed the autopsy on Givan on March 15, took the stand Thursday morning and told jurors Givan's cause of death was carbon monoxide posioning due to smoke inhalation caused by a mobile home fire.

At the completion of that testimony both sides rested their case and the jury was dismissed for lunch.

Closing arguments and jury deliberations are expected to beging Thursday afternoon.

Updates will be posted here at www.salemleader.com as they become available and check next week's issue of The Salem Leader for a complete wrap up of the trial.
