Cynthia Lee, 37, Salem, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 25, after another woman called to report Lee was making racist and violent threats against her and her children through Facebook Messenger.

The woman being threatened sent screenshots of the messages to Salem Police Officer Tyler Gregory, who compiled the report on this incident.

In one message of several, Gregory said Lee threatened, “I will fight you, b****,” and called the victim’s children racial slurs several times, saying “Lmao I will make sure your little n****** are [taken] care of lol,” and “I got pull in this town hunny they hang n******.” She added, “I hope they die right along with you, ****.”

When Gregory called Lee, she said she didn’t know what was going on between her and the victim and claimed she hadn’t sent any messages, “while sounding very annoyed.”

When Gregory told her he had copies of the messages, she said the woman and Lee’s husband, Travis, were trying to sell her meth. Gregory asked why Lee would threaten the children. She said she didn’t threaten them, just told their mother, “they hang n****** in this town.” Gregory asked her about the message she sent in which she told the victim she was “going to beat her a**.”

Lee told Gregory, “I am gonna beat her a**.”

“Is that not a threat?” Gregory asked.

Lee told him it wasn’t a threat. She told him it was a promise.

Lee was arrested and preliminarily charged with criminal recklessness and on a warrant for intimidation, a Level 6 felony.
