A Washington County Deputy at the scene of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of State Road 60 and 335 in Pekin said occupants of the vehicles sustained only minor injuries as far as he knew.

This was confirmed later when his fellow deputy, Ryan Larrimore, said the drivers were taken to St. Vincent-Salem Hospital by Washington County EMS reporting only chest and neck pain, but no other injuries.

Perlie Blevins, 71, Pekin, was traveling southeast on State Road 60 and went to turn left onto fifth street, turning in front of a black 2015 Ford Focus, driven by Terri Crawford, 55, Louisville, Kentucky, traveling in the opposite direction on SR 60.

Larrimore said speed was a factor in the crash, but wasn't the cause.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Pekin Town Marshal Jeff Thomas, Washington County EMS and the Pierce-Polk VFD.
