Christopher Hammill, 40, Little York, was arrested on multiple warrants and new charges, mostly drug charges, on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Indiana State Trooper Jackie Smith said he and other officers went to Hammill’s home in Little York to serve a warrant on Hammill following an incident in December.

Officers had received word that Hammill was selling methamphetamine, they went to execute a search warrant at Hammill’s home. They found Hammill there with two others, Brent Hargis and Kristen Hunt. Hargis was visiting, but Hunt said she lived there with Hammill.

Officers found hypodermic needles, methamphetamine paraphernalia with residue, marijuana paraphernalia with residue, multiple flat surfaces with a crystalline substance, a bolt-action rifle, a bag of pills, 11 pills suspected to be acetaminophen and oxycodone, 53 pills suspected to be buprenorphine and naloxone, a baggie containing what Hunt admitted was heroin, plant-like material, plant seeds, counterfeit $20 bills, a pump-action shotgun. They also found a bag of a crystalline substance weighing about one pound in the toilet tank.

Hargis told officers he had previously purchased methamphetamine from Hammill, but was just visiting that night. He admitted to facilitating drug transactions between a source in Louisville and customers in Indiana.

Hammill and Hunt told officers they were a team and deal methamphetamine together, purchasing and selling about a pound of methamphetamine every two weeks. They said they both used methamphetamine daily and Hunt also uses heroin.

While the officers were there, Thomas Seebold arrived at the home, telling officers he was there to pick up a trailer from Hammill. He gave the officers consent to search his truck, where they found a .380 KelTec pistol under the driver’s seat. A criminal history check showed Seebold had been recently arrested for carrying a handgun without a license. Seebold denied knowing the handgun was under his seat. The handgun was seized and Seebold, Hunt, Hammill, and Hargis were told their cases would be submitted to the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

The officers also received a report of a stolen vehicle, located at Hammill’s residence. They had evidence that the truck had been traded to Hammill for methamphetamine. The truck was returned to the owner and removed from the system.

On Jan. 23, officers went to serve the warrant and found more methamphetamine, more plant material believed to be marijuana and a paraphernalia pipe.

Hammill was arrested and preliminarily charged with dealing in methamphetamine, two counts of possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, auto theft and possession of paraphernalia, on a warrant from the December incident. He was further preliminarily charged with maintaining a common nuisance and possession of marijuana hash oil, hashish or salvia.
