C’burg man arrested for threatening city official

It’s not only police and firefighters who take risks on the job. As it turns out, being the Superintendent of Water and Sewers can be a bit threatening as well.

Campbellsburg Marshall Claude Combs called Deputy Matt Hein on Friday, Jan. 25, to help him arrest Corey J. Kommer, 29, Campbellsburg, for intimidation with a deadly weapon after Kommer threatened to shoot Christopher W. Boulet, the Water and Sewer Superintendent for Campbellsburg.

Boulet told Combs he had been at Kommer’s home on East Brown Street to disconnect the water service to the home for late payments. Boulet said he was in a City of Campbellsburg truck and lay down on the ground by the meter pit to turn off the service and put a lock on it. Kommer came out of the home, yelling, “Get off my f****** property or I’ll get my gun and shoot you!” and “I have your f****** money!” and “I’ll come to the office and I’ll drive my car through the f****** front door!”

Boulet said he didn’t reply or say anything to Kommer, but that Kommer did leave multiple messages at the Campbellsburg Town Hall threatening to kick the door in. Boulet recalled an incident this past summer when Kommer had been standing outside with a handgun in the waistband of his pants while workers were repairing the water line near Kommer’s home.

By the time Hein arrived at the Campbellsburg Town Hall, Kommer was there, speaking with Combs. Hein arrested Kommer and brought him to the Washington County Detention Center on the charge of intimidation with a deadly weapon.
