Wilma D. (Allman) Hawkins

Wilma D. (Allman) Hawkins, 82, Greenwood, died Friday, March 30, 2018, at Homeview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, as a result of Alzheimer’s Disease.

She was a former resident of Livonia and Salem, and was the widow of former State Bank of Salem President H. Dean Hawkins. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of the Liberty Christian Church in Martinsville.

Born Dec. 15, 1935, in Lafayette, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Willie Lewis and Eva Estelle (McCauley) Simpson. On Oct. 10, 1953, she married Dempsey O. Allman in Indianapolis. They moved from Indianapolis to Livonia in 1976; he died on January 2, 1981. On February 13, 1982, Wilma married H. Dean Hawkins in Salem. He died Dec. 22, 2017.

Besides her parents and husbands, Wilma was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister, her son-in-law, one step-grandchild, a step-brother and three step-sisters.

Surviving are daughters Pamela (Ed) Rosado of Antioch, Tennessee; Paula Perkins of Whiteland, and Penny (Kevin) Shreve of McLeansboro, Illinois; a stepson, John (Sue) Hawkins of Fredericksburg; a stepdaughter, Susan (Michael) Keane of Cartersville, Georgia; three great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bettie (Bob) Couch of Avon; Glenda Hicks of Brownsburg, and Freida (Lannie) Spall of Indianapolis, and a sister-in-law, Patsy Simpson of Indianapolis.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to the time of service at 1 p.m. (ET) at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be at 11 a.m. (ET) Wednesday at Cresthaven Memorial Gardens in Bedford.
