William "Ray" Moore

Greenville, IN: William “Ray” Moore, age 84, passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN on April 8, 2019.

Ray was born on March 21, 1935, to Henry and Bonnie Noreen Moore in Madisonville, KY. On August 14, 1954, he married Dora Ann Cox. They have celebrated 65 years of marriage. Ray was a former employee of Brown-Forman Distillery in Louisville, KY for 40 years. He was a member of Palmyra Baptist Church. Ray loved hunting, fishing, gardening, square dancing, going to church, volunteering with Dora at local hospitals and nursing homes, entertaining guests at their home, and spending time with family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Ronald Edward Moore, a brother Henry Moore, a sister Mildred Bowles, and a grandson Todd Moore.

He is survived by his wife Dora, a son Donald Ray (Anita) Moore, two daughters Vickie Ann (Paul) Love and Bonnie Alice (Simon) Robinson, a brother David Moore, and a sister Mavis Beasley. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Michael Moore, Elizabeth Hollis, Douglas Love, Ava Robinson, and Ellie Robinson, four great-grandchildren: Matthew Moore, Dylan Moore, Hunter Moore, and Henry Hollis, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Love Funeral Home on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at Love Funeral Home on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Ray Moore.
