Wesley Hynes (Wes) Jones, age 71 of Salem, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 9:04 pm in Baptist Health Floyd New Albany.
Born November 10, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late J. B. and Ruby (Hynes) Jones.
He retired after 30 years from the Salem Post Office and was a former dairy farmer and sales manager at Brown Brothers Cadillac.
He was a member of the Blue River Baptist Church and taught Sunday School.  He served during the Vietnam War as a Spec 5 in the U.S. Army, had been a resident of WashingtonCounty for the past 44 years, was a 1965 graduate of North Hardin High School and attended Western Kentucky University.  He was a former YMCA Board Member and a former tennis coach at Eastern and Salem High Schools.
On September 6, 1975 he married Lynn A. (Ayres) Jones, who survives. Also surviving are: 2 Sons: Stuart (Amy) Jones of Leavenworth, Kansas and Bart (Lee-Anna) Jones of Henryville; 2 Sisters: Elaine Wells of Louisville and Susan (Sam) Isaacs of Lexington, Kentucky; 1 Grandson: Wesley Jones and 6 Granddaughters: Lydia, Eliyah, Annalise, Ariana, Lena and Hannah Jones.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Tuesday at the Blue River Baptist Church.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Monday at Dawalt Funeral Home and 9 am until the time of the service at the Church.
Interment at Blue River Baptist Cemetery with full military honors.
