Mr. Wayne Edgar Nicholson, age 92, of Salem parted this life on Thursday, May 24 at Salem Crossing.

Mr. Nicholson was born June 6, 1925 in Washington County, Indiana the son of John. W. and Elma M. Phipps Nicholson.  He was a retired farmer and had been involved with Washington County 4-H and the Farmer’s Market.  He was a member of Monroe Church of Christ.  He was a World War II Army veteran, being drafted on September 5, 1944 and honorably discharged on July 7, 1946, and a member of Campbellsburg American Legion.

Wayne is survived by his wife:  Ellen Faye Maudlin.  They were married August 15, 1947.  He is also survived by two sons:  Melvin Nicholson (Sandy) of Greencastle and Keith Nicholson (Deb) of Salem, two daughters:  Donna Thompson (Butch Huff) and Rebecca Wilkerson (Billy) both of Salem, a brother:  Phillip Nicholson of Campbellsburg, a sister:  Phyllis Maudlin of Evansville, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers:  Leo, Maurice, Laurel, Cecil, and John David Nicholson, two sisters:  Bethel Knapp and Mildred Smith and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8PM and Wednesday from 9AM-time of service.
