Robert D. Weston

Robert D. Weston, age 87 of Salem, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at 11:50 am, in the Meadow View Health Care Center.
Born January 15, 1931 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the late Harvey Everett and Flossie (Hopkins) Weston. 
He had been a life resident of Washington County, graduated from Salem High School in 1949 and then graduated from the Electronics School in Indianapolis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Salem, served during the Korean War as a BM3 in the U.S. Navy and was a life member of the Salem V.F.W. Post #6636.
He retired after 38 years with the Porter Paint Company in Louisville.  After retirement he bought a motor home and traveled the United States where he eventually bought a home in the Villages, Florida where he has lived for the past 13 years.  Robert enjoyed being an airplane pilot and owned his own plane.  He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and his golf cart around the Villages.
He married Opal F. (Burns) Weston, who survives.
Also surviving are: 3 Sons: Danny (Melissa) Weston of Clarksville, David (Sheila) Weston of Rockwood, Tennessee and James (Tina) Weston of Salem; 1 Stepson: Kevin A. (Wilma) Hobson of Salem; 1 Stepdaughter: Debbie Curtis of Salem; 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
 

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Steven Gorman officiating.  Interment and committal will follow the service at Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday and after 9 am Thursday.
