Richard Eugene Redfern

Hardinsburg: Richard Eugene Redfern, age 77, passed away at his residents on January 2, 2018.

He was born on November 20, 1940 in Island, KY to Richard and Julie Campbell Redfern. Richard graduated from Ahrens trade in Louisville, Ky in 1957 and continued his education by taking many college courses. He served in the Air Force from 1957-1961. Richard was married to his beloved wife Frances Lafever Redfern for 40 years. He worked at Advance Machine before he retired and was the owner of Frannies diner in Palmyra for ten years.

He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Melissa Adkins, his father Richard Redfern, and mother Julie Redfern, along with his father and mother in-law Charles and Frances Duggins, his brother Anthony Redfern, and brother in-law Robert Lafever.

He is survived by his two sons Stoney Keith (Linda) of Princeton, IN and Ricky Keith of New York, his two brothers Tom Redfern (Joyce) of Monroe, IN, Bob Redfern (Mary) Of Louisville, KY, a sister Sarah West of Louisville KY, son in-law Joe Adkins of Peebles, Ohio, three beloved grandchildren, Josiah Adkins of Hardinsburg, IN and Kenzie and Uriah Adkins of Peebles, Ohio and several step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN on Sunday January 7, 2018 at 2pm. Visitation hours will be from 1pm to 8pm Saturday January 6 and again on January 7, 2018 on Sunday from 12pm to time of service. Burial will follow at Hardinsburg Cemetery in Hardinsburg, IN.
