Ralph Eugene Hopkins, age 79 of Salem, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019  in Meadow View Health Care Center in Salem.
Born October 8, 1939 in Attica, Indiana, he was the son of the late Erman and Mildred (Marcum) Hopkins.
He the owner of Salem Electric Company, had been a lifetime farmer and enjoyed working on the farm.  He was a member of the Blue River Baptist Church, a life resident of Washington County and a 1957 graduate of Pekin High School.
He was President of the Dairymens Inc. Board and a member of the Pork Produces and the Farmers Club.
In October 1961 he married Linda (Ponsford) Hopkins, who survives. 
Also surviving are: Jeff (Jennifer) Moore of Salem, 3 Sisters: Erma Jean DiCarlo of Baltimore, Maryland, Anita Temple of Palmyra and Renodda Wahking of New Albany and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Larry Dale Hopkins.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday and after 9 am Thursday.
