Phyllis "JoAnn" Shaffer

Georgetown, IN:  Phyllis “JoAnn” Shaffer, age 71, passed away at her home on Monday, April 8, 2019.

She was born on October 8, 1947 in Fredericksburg, IN to William and Lena Kost. JoAnn was a 1965 graduate of Morgan High School. She worked for PNC as a bank teller for 27 years, for Horseshoe Casino for 12 years, and most recently in customer service for Walmart in New Albany. JoAnn loved to shop and also enjoyed her cats, houseplants, and yardwork.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, William and Lena Kost, a brother Nelson Kost, and a sister Joyce Mock.

She is survived by her daughter Renee (Ronald) Ramsey, her twin brother James R. Kost, and two grandchildren: Katlyn Ramsey and James Ramsey.

Funeral services will be held at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be at Love Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 2-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Central Barren Cemetery.
