Michael W. Chastain
Mr. Michael W. Chastain, age 68, of Columbus, passed away Monday, May 6 at his home.
Mr. Chastain was born December 27, 1950 in Salem the son of Robert A. and Verona M. Howard Chastain Kight. He was retired from the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of Lakeview Church of Christ in Columbus.
Michael is survived by his wife: Harriett Kaiser Chastain. They were married December 4, 1971. He is also survived by his children: J.R. Chastain (Ellen) of Crestwood, Kentucky and James Chastain (Adriana) of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Tracy Paxson (Jason) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, eight grandchildren: Reed Chastain, Adeline Chastain, Nathan Chastain, Matthew Chastain, Grant Paxson, Evan Paxson, Abigail Paxson and Janelle Paxson, his mother: Verona Chastain-Kight, and his sister: Nancy Colglazier (David) of Salem.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Smedley Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7PM and Thursday from 9AM-time of service.
