Maurice Jones

Maurice Jones, age 65, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Homeview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. He was a resident of Morgantown.
Maurice was born July 30, 1953, in Salem, to the late Bev and Hattie Mae (Bailey) Jones. He was a 1971 graduate of West Washington High School in Cambellsburg. Maurice retired this past February from Amtrak in Beech Grove after 11 years of service. He was also the owner and operator of M&C Trucking for 12 years.
Maurice loved life, family and friends. He always had a smile and words of encouragement for anyone who was feeling low. Maurice was a wonderful husband, friend, father and pawpaw. He loved going to church, working on cars and keeping everything in order.
He was caring, even at death, to make sure everything was done at home. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Maurice will be missed by his wife of 22 years, Connie S. (Hoskins) Jones whom he married on June 1, 1996 in Trafalgar, sons: Craig Maurice Jones (Jeanna) and Maurice Jones Jr. (Laura) both of Salem, and grandchildren Joey Jones, Tyler Jones, and Hattie Jones of Salem and great-granddaughter Magnolia Grace and siblings: Hazel, Faith, Eunice, Johnny, Coy and Harold.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Roy, and Bev Jr.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Faith Full Gospel Church: 6881 North State Road 135 in Brown County. Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Meredith-Clark Funeral Home: 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
