Marietta Louise Bowers Taylor

Marietta Louise Bowers Taylor, 86, New Palestine, died April 9, 2018. She was born March 3, 1932, in Salem, to the late Clarence and Myrtle Bowers. 

Marietta graduated high school where she shared being valedictorian with her twin sister, Marilyn. She continued her education at Purdue University receiving her degree in Home Economics. Later she returned to Indiana Central to obtain her Master’s degree in education, where she did her thesis on Individualizing identical twins. 

Marietta married Glen Taylor, and worked as a first grade teacher in the Franklin Township School system until her retirement. Marietta was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. 

Marietta is survived by her husband, Glen; daughters Barbara (Myles) Holsworth of Irving, Texas, and Deborah Hart of Greenfield; step-daughter, Glenda (John) Whiteman of Indianapolis and a granddaughter and great-grandson of Dallas, Texas.
