Loucindia "Cindy" Martelle Lawson

Loucindia Martelle Lawson (Cindy), age 51 of Salem, passed away May 23 at her home.

Cindy was born August 11, 1966 in Anderson, Indiana the daughter of Tom and Nancy Lawson.

Cindy liked animals, especially cats.  She liked jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles, soap operas, and movies, especially romantic comedies, Disney movies, and animal- based movies.  She also liked the Hallmark Channel.  She liked children, always asking their name whenever she would see a child alone in a shopping cart at a store.  She liked to visit with people.  She had a great love of people and animals in general.   She loved participating in Special Olympics.  Bowling was her favorite activity.  She also took part in the softball throw, various walking events and corn toss.  She made many new friends when she joined the current Special Olympics group.  She wanted to please people and liked doing things for them.

Cindy was a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church.  She looked forward to the hugs she would get on Sunday mornings.  She deeply loved her church family, her friends, and her Special Olympic family.  She is greatly missed by many people.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 22 at 1:00PM at Crown Hill Cemetery, with burial to follow.
