Joseph L. Brown, 88, Pekin, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2018. 

He was born on Dec. 21, 1929, in New Haven, Kentucky, to the late Damian and Mary Alitha (Cecil) Brown. 

He was married 63 years to his late wife Mary (Thomas) Brown. 

Joseph enjoyed traveling with his wife, Mary, deer hunting, and anything outdoors.

He is survived by his nine children: Debra Kaelin (John), Danny Brown (Yolanda), Tim Brown (Susan), Joey Brown, Ted Brown (Susan), Johnny Brown (Lorena), Clinton Brown, Christa Smallwood (Adam), Cindy Wyatt (Steve); nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy (Boonie) Brown, and four sisters, Ann Bryan (Billy), Evelyn Vittitow, Lucy Carroll and Shirley Brown.

The funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9,  at Spring Valley Funeral Home in New Albany. Burial followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Pekin.
