Jeanne Hall

Jeanne Hall, 94, Salem, died Oct. 1, 2019.  She was born in Glenrock, Wyoming, one of six children born to the Popp family.  She later moved and lived in Chicago, Illinois, where she met Patrick Hall while in art school.  They married and moved to Dallas, Texas, where she was employed by Neiman Marcus, drawing women’s fashion clothing and shoes for advertising in newspapers and magazines.

Jean and Patrick adopted three beautiful children: Leanne, Michael and Karen.  Life took the Hall’s on many twists and turns - one being a business venture where they planned, developed and ran a campground in Arlington which successfully hosted some attendees of Expo ’72 – a group of college students with Campus Crusade for Christ.  From this adventure the family moved and settled into life in Tucson, Arizona.  Jeanne was a cook for the Saint Peter and Paul convent where the children attended school.

As a bi-product of the Great Depression she helped raise her three children using various skills she acquired in life; as a mechanic, a carpenter, and seamstress to name a few. She loved jigsaw puzzles, playing bridge, reading and mending her grandkids clothes!

Retirement meant an RV and life on the road again. In recent years she lived in Indiana and contributed her time and sewing skills by making pillowcase dresses for the Little Dresses for Africa ministry.

2 Corinthians 5:8 reminds us that, “we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”

Memorial gifts in Jeanne’s memory can be made to Show Hope, a ministry that awards Adoption Aid grants to families in the adoption process. Information can be found at: https://showhope.org/our-work/adoption-aid/.
