Jane Davis Skillen

Jane (Davis) Skillen, originally from Salem, Indiana, died on April 10 at 98 years old.

She graduated from Salem High School in 1938 and attended Ball Memorial, where she earned her R.N.  She served in the Air Force, stationed at Homestead, Florida, where she met her first husband, Nathan B. Ludwig, from Brooklyn, New York.  She was a charter member of Women In Service and is listed on a memorial at Arlington Cemetery. 

Jane was the daughter of John H. and Grace B. Davis of Salem and the mother of Susan Merritt of Scottsdale, Arizona and Kevin Ludwig of Indianapolis.  She is also survived by step-children:  James Skillen of Middlebury, Indiana, Martin Conner of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Robin DeGroff of Warsaw, Indiana, two grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by four siblings:  Mary E. Wallace, Lee A. Davis, Gene P. Davis and Paul W. Davis, her three husbands:  Nathan B. Ludwig, Lee Conner and Robert Skillen and her parents.

There will be no services.
