James W. Smith

Mr. James W. Smith age 56 of Salem passed away Wednesday, June 27 at Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville.

Mr. Smith was born February 1, 1962 in Salem the son of Hollis Lee Smith Sr. and Virginia Fern Dillman Embry.  James was a former employee of Kimball’s and GKN.   He was an Army veteran.  He enjoyed motorcycles, racing motorcycles and watching NASCAR.

James was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years:  Margaret Leanne Smith, his parents:  Hollis Lee Smith Sr. and Virginia Fern Embry, a brother:  Hollis Lee Smith Jr., a sister:  Cynthia Moore and a grandson:  Alexander Robbins.

He is survived by a daughter:  Kisha Lively (Travis) of Salem, a brother:  Lilburn C. Toby Smith of Mitchell, a sister:  Maria Knapp of Salem, his step-father:  Terry Embry of Salem, and two grandsons:  Jeremy Austin Dunn and Jacob Lively, and his best friend:  Paul Young.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2 at 6:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Monday from 2-6PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be at a later date in Liberty Christian Cemetery.
