Ernest C. Snider, age 92 of Salem, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at 12:50 am, in his residence.

Born February 28, 1926 in Taylorsville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Hugh Willis and Gertrude (Gregory) Snider.

He was a Lab/X-ray supervisor from 1952-1994 with the old Washington County Memorial Hospital and was a partner in Snider Cattle Farms.  He served in WW II as a Seaman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy and had been a resident of Washington County since 1952, formerly of Taylorsville, Kentucky.

Survivors include:  Son: Bruce (Julie) Snider of Salem; 4 Daughters: Leah (Gordon) Gallagher of Red Lodge, Montana, Patricia (Roger) Martin of Salem, Linda (Andy) Niece of Nahunta, Georgia and Jennifer (Greg) Rowland of Campbellsburg;  The mother of his children: Margaret Snider of Salem; 1 Brother: Norman Lee Snider of Duluth, Georgia; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Son: Gregory Snider, Grandson: Louis J. Snider, Brother: Edward Snider and Sister: Elsie Helen Presti.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation: 10 am until the time of the service on Friday.
