Donald Strother, age 78 of Campbellsburg, Indiana passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 10:55 pm, in his residence, surrounded by his family.
Born August 4, 1941 in Paoli, Indiana, he was the son of Howard Strother and Ester (Bruner) Strother. 
He had been a resident of Washington County for most of his life, graduated from Hardinsburg High School class of 1959.
He was a member, deacon and avid volunteer of the Sugar Creek Christian Church.
On December, 15 1960 he married Fern Kay (Walton) Strother, who passed away August 27, 2019.
Donnie was a United States Army veteran and he retired after 27 years with the old Helsel's Manufacturing Company in Campbellsburg. He enjoyed working on the family farm and loved cutting wood with his wife.

Survivors include:
Son: Greg (Donna) Strother of Campbellsburg; Daughter: Cindy Strother of Campbellsburg; Brother: Steve (Faye) Strother of Livonia; Step Mother Karen Strother of Paoli; 2 Stepsister: Cindy Chastain and Sherri Jo McClellen both of Paoli; Stepbrother: Del Hauger of Louisville; Half sister: Sarah Parks of Paoli;
He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Leon "Bud" Strother.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Thursday at Sugar Creek Christian Church with Todd Murphy officiating.  Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home and 10 to 1 pm Thursday at Sugar Creek Christian Church. 
Interment at Cavetown Cemetery near Campbellsburg with full military honors.
