Donald Dietrich

Donald Dietrich, age 84, Greenville, passed away peacefully at Rolling Hills Nursing Home, on Friday, March 30, 2018.

Donald was born February 1, 1934, in Palmyra, Indiana to Edgar Raymond Dietrich and Odessa Olga (Radcliffe) Patterson. On June 18, 1955, he married Mary Lu Dietrich. They have celebrated 62 wonderful years together.

Donald attended Pekin High School and was an Army veteran. He retired from General Electric after 35 years of service. Donald loved spending time with his family, fishing, and tinkering with tools. One of his favorite creations was a car dubbed the “Dietrich Special."

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth Dietrich.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lu (McGuirk) Dietrich, two sons: Steven Dietrich of Georgetown and Scott Dietrich (Beverly) of Greenville, and a daughter: Sheri Bower (Jim) of Sellersburg; a sister, Helen Jarboe (Raymond); sister-in law, Patty Dietrich; two grandchildren: Anna Dietrich and Erica Reiter (Kyle); and two great-grandsons: Colton and Cash Reiter. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 2, at 11am at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra with interment to follow at St. Michaels Cemetery.  Visitation was Sunday, April 1, and Monday, April 2, from 9am until the time of service at Love Funeral Home.
