Danny Carter, age 71 of Scottsburg, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019, in Baptist Health Floyd.
 
Born December 1, 1947 in Bedford, Indiana, he was the son of Robert and Rose Marie (Jones).
 
He was a machine operator with Print Pack in Bloomington and was also an independent construction contractor.  He served during the Vietnam War as a SP4 in the U. S. Army, had been a resident of Scottsburg for the past 5 years, formerly of Mitchell and was a 1967 graduate of Mitchell High School.  He loved his family and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
 
Survivors include:  2 Daughters: Diana Marie (Terry) England and Chasity Dawn (Brandon) Smith;  Fiancée Rebecca Nunn;  Son: Drake Nunn;  Step  Son: Dawson Luman;  Mother and Stepfather: Rose Marie and Jim Gentry;   Brother: Steve Carter;  Sister: Diana Bollhorst;  Grandson's: Eligah and Easton Smith, Dylan and Daniel England; Granddaughter: Alexis England and Great Grandson, Jacob England.
 
He was preceded in death by his father: Robert Carter, brother: Jerry Carter and grandson: Jacob Whalin England.
 
Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home.
Visitation: 11 am to 1 pm Thursday.
