Mr. Dannie E. Compton age 68 of Salem, passed away Monday, July 8 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.

Mr. Compton was born January 26, 1951 in Washington County the son of Bennie and Ruby Balentine Compton. He worked at Old Hilltop Super Market and East Washington Water for many years.

He is survived by brothers: Myron (Linda) Compton of Pekin, and Jimmie L. Compton of Aurora, Colorado, and a nephew: Jeffry Compton of Aurora, Colorado. He was preceded in death by a brother: Stephan Compton, his good friend: Susan Bobbitt, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Big Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. and Thursday from 9AM-until time of service at the funeral home.
