Mr. Charles “Steve” Highfill, age 67, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, June 19 at his home.

Mr. Highfill was born May 30, 1952 in Bedford, Indiana the son of Charles Highfill and Virginia Mosson Stone.  He was retired from Ivy Tech Community College and was an Air Force Veteran.

Steve is survived by his wife:  Lorrie Perkins Highfill.  They were married June 19, 1981.  He is also survived by four daughters:  Monika Gray (Corey) of Fairdale, Kentucky, Annie Highfill of Salem, Allison Duff (Bryan) of Salem and Angela Highfill of Salem, four brothers:  Gary Highfill of Louisville, Mark Highfill of New Albany, Shannon Stone of Greenville and Jim Stone of Palmyra, a sister:  Suzie Fitzgerald of New Albany, 7 grandchildren:  Donald Highfill, Stephen Gray, Bobbie Gray, Mika Gray, Maddox Wilson, Lila Dysart and Huxley Duff, and 2 great-grandchildren:  D.J. Highfill and Oakley Highfill. 

He was preceded in death by his parents:  Charles Highfill and Virginia Stone, his step-father:  Leon Stone, three brothers:  David Stone, Lanny Stone, and Jack Stone, and a sister:  Donna Leffler. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and Saturday from 9AM-time of service.
