Charles A. King, age 80, of Salem, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Harrison County Hospital. Born October 21, 1939 in Charleston, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Robert Leo King and Mary Etna Martin King.

Charles was a retired Army veteran with 20 years of service; a retired employee of the Richmond County, South Carolina Highway Department; and was a farmer. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW Post 3281, New Albany, and a 33° Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Delores King; his granddaughter, Jessica Ann King.

He is survived by 1 son, Robert E. "Pete" King of New Jersey; 1 sister, Joyce Black of Florida; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

The funeral service will be held Friday, July 31, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Salem Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
