Betty N. Fultz

Betty N. (Curtsinger) Fultz, 91, of Scottsburg, Indiana, died on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at her residence. 

She was born on September 7, 1928, in Mackville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Everett and Nona (Riley ) Curtsinger.  Betty graduated from Scottsburg High School in the Class of 1947.  She was married on November 13, 1971 to Dr. Roy L. Fultz, who preceded her in death on September 13, 1992.  Betty was a retired bank teller and bookkeeper for the old Scott County State Bank in Scottsburg, Indiana and a bank in Waco Texas.  She also had worked at the old Meyers Corporation in Salem, Indiana.  Betty was a member of the Austin Christian Church, enjoyed participating in a bowling league, and also belonged to an Indiana State Medical Auxiliary at Clark County Hospital, where her husband practiced medicine.  After retiring from the banking industry, she started trading in stocks as a hobby and with her husband's blessing.  Betty soon learned and became very knowledgeable and trading on the stock market became her passion.  When her husband died, she used her investing acumen to support herself.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Hahn and Ann Bennett.

Survivors include a son, James  E. (Becky) Prather of Indianapolis; a daughter, Jonell (David) Denny of Salem, Indiana; two nephews, Greg (Sandy) Hahn of Scottsburg and Curt Bennett of Madisonville, Tennessee; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Funeral Service: 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020, at Austin Christian Church with Jay Stephens officiating. Services may be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg and after noon on Friday at the Austin Christian Church. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem.  Services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC’s recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face coverings are encouraged. Memorial Contributions may be given to either the Austin Christian Church or the Scott County Clearinghouse c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.  Online condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
