Barbara Ellen Brewer, age 81 of Salem, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017, in her residence.
   Born March 3, 1936 in Dryden, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Leslie George and Molly J. (Wade) Delph.A
   She was a retired Certified Nurse Assistant with the old Heritage House of Salem and a former employee of Amaray International in Pekin. She had been a resident of Washington County since 1956 and was formerly of Dryden, Virginia.
   Barbara  married in 1956 to W. D. Brewer, who passed away Sept. 14, 1979. 
Survivors include:
7 Sons:
  James (Elizabeth) Brewer of Dryden, Virginia
  William D. Brewer of Bloomington
  Vass Brewer of Pennington Gap, Virginia
  Donald (Jill) Brewer of Plattsburg
  Douglas Brewer and Hobart (Karen) Brewer of Salem
  Jimmy (Brenda) Byington of Jonesville, Virginia
3 Daughters:
  Marie (Barry) McDermott and Wanda Sue (Doug) Brown of Salem and Ruth   
  (J. B.) Mills, Scottsburg
Daughter-in-law: Teresa Brewer of Salem
2 Sisters: Zelma Delph and Gracie Henry of Salem
Her Friend: Hobert Amburgey of Salem and Her dog: Betsy.
  She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. 
   She was preceded in death by 1 son, Hack Brewer, 2 brothers: George and Arthur Delph, 3 grandchildren: Hollie and Sara Brewer and Clinton Brewer.

Funeral Service: 7:00 pm Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home.

Visitation: 1:00 pm until the time of the service on Wednesday.

A Graveside Service will be held: 10 am Thursday at Crown Hill Cemetery.
