Barbara A. Boling Knight

Mrs. Barbara A. Boling Knight, age 86, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, June 23 at her home.

Mrs. Knight was born May 5, 1934 in Salem the daughter of H. Seymour and Dorsie Sanders Boling.  She was a very active member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.  She was a previous volunteer for the Salem Food Bank and St. Vincent Hospital Auxiliary and was a also a former Girl Scout Leader.

Barbara married Glen Knight on March 13, 1963 and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2012.  She was also preceded in death by five brothers:  Howard, Harold, William, Warren and Ralph Boling, a sister:  Nancy Fulton, and her parents.

She is survived by her children:  Steve Goen (Donna) of Salem, Kevin Goen (Mona) of Chesnee, South Carolina, and Kelly Knight Merrell (Johnny) of St. Charles, Missouri, a brother:  Frank Boling of Speedway, Indiana, two sisters:  Dorothy Hopkins of Palm Springs, California and Dixie Lyles of La Belle, Florida, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Saturday from 9-11AM.  Burial will be at a later date in Crown Hill Cemetery.
