Mrs. Anita B. Barnes age 90 of Salem passed away Tuesday, January 16 at Salem Crossing.

Mrs. Barnes was born November 12, 1927 in Clark County, Indiana the daughter of Arthur and Nellie Robinson Cole.  She was a retired Teacher’s Aide for Salem Schools. 

Anita was preceded in death by her husband:  John C. Barnes on September 24, 1991, a brother:  Robert Cole, a sister:  Atha Wells, a grandson:  Donald Smith and her parents.

She is survived by two sons:  Randy Barnes of Spokane, Washington and Kelly Barnes (Nina) of Salem, three daughters:  Suzanne Smith (Robert) of Salem, Mary Hoke of Clarksville and Penny Loveday (Ernest) of Salem, a brother:  Lee Cole of Nabb, 8 grandchildren:  Brent and Lacey Smith, Eric Hoke, Cody Hardin, Miranda Barnes, Misty Loveday, Lekisha Robbins and Chantz Loveday, six great-grandchildren:  Cameron and Caitlyn Coons, Sean Sanders, Brittany Smith and Hailey and Easton Hoke, and one great-great-grandchild:  Gauge Spicer.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Barnes Cemetery, Nabb.  Visitation will be Friday from 11AM-time of service.
