Rev. Danny L. Jackson

Rev. Danny L. Jackson, 67, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Scott Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 25, 1951 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Harry Lee and Ruby Alice (Floyd) Jackson.
Danny graduated from Salem High School in 1969 and on July 23, 1971 married Deanna R. Garriott. He was the Pastor of Turning Point Church in Scottsburg, Indiana for the last 22 years. Danny was the former owner and operator of Jackson Heating and Air Conditioning, worked for 9 years at the old American Can Company in Austin, Indiana and currently served as the Police and Hospital Chaplain.
He served as a Board Member for numerous organizations including the Scott County Clearinghouse, Disaster Relief, Todd's Place, FEMA and was President of the Scott County Ministerial Association. Danny was also an event coordinator and his church annually hosted the United Way Day of Caring Event. He was a member of the Westwood Golf Course, was involved with CASA and had served for six years in the Indiana Army Reserves.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Deanna R. Jackson; three daughters, Rebecca Johnson and husband Tim, Jill Brown and husband Jeremy and Amanda Hunter and husband Matt all of Scottsburg, Indiana; his son, Jonathan D. Jackson and wife Liz of Gouldsboro, Maine; a brother, Freddy Jackson and wife Linda of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Janie Stephenson and husband Bruce of Salem, Indiana; twelve grandchildren, Derek Johnson (Hannah), Alyssa Hopwood (Sam), Megan and Jordyn Johnson, Jackson, Carter and Madison Brown, Kylie, Gavin and Peyton Hunter, Victoria and Jameson Jackson and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Turning Point Church, 899 W. McClain Ave. in Scottsburg, Indiana with Rev. Bob Hauselman officiating.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday and after 9 am Wednesday at Turning Point Church.
Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
