Harry "Butch" Knight

Harry L “Butch” Knight, 74, Scottsburg, died July 2, 2018, at Scottsburg.

Born on September 25, 1943, in Scott County, he was the son of William Knight and Mildred Donahue Knight.

He served in the U. S. Marines and  was a retired transport driver with the Scott County Sheriff; retired truck driver; and retired as a new car hauler. His passion was faith, family, and his country.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg; Scott County Sheriff Posse; Christian Cowboys; and was past commander of Holly Grove AK American Legion.                             

He married Verla M. (Hodges) Knight, who survives.

Other survivors include his children: Russell Knight (Cheryl), Rainey Knight Duvall (Kerwin), and Teresa Kessler (Randy), sisters: Janet Amick, Carol Johnston, Betty Sharp; brother: William Leroy Knight (Dorothy); grandchildren: Anthony Gross, Aret Gross, Cody Duvall, Cailee Duvall, and Landon Kessler.

He was preceded in death by  his parents.
Visitation is Thursday, July 5, 2018, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Stewart & Hoagland  Funeral Home, with funeral service at 11 a.m.   Burial will be at noon at Indiana Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Madison, Indiana with a graveside service.
