Georgia B. McNeely, 87, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born May 21, 1930 in Trimble County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Elza and Goldie (Law) Miles.
Georgia was married on April 16, 1949 to Delmar L. McNeely, who passed away on Nov. 29, 2005. She was a retired clerk at the old Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service (ASCS) in Scottsburg, Indiana and attended the Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church.
Georgia wrote poetry and stories, enjoyed painting and loved working in her gardens. She was very talented and had hand built an incredible Doll House that was featured in Country Woman Magazine.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Elza Miles, Jr. and four sisters, Dottie Miles, Mattie Harp, Mary Gladys Means and Edna Lamb.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. Randy McNeely and wife Pat of French Lick, Indiana and Ronnie E. McNeely and wife Brenda of Lexington, Indiana; her daughter, Linda S. Sparkman and husband Wendell of Lexington, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Corey, Brad and Wes McNeely (Amie), Eric Sparkman (Marie), Josh Sparkman (Renee') and Amanda Salkeld (Chris); twenty-one great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Mc Neely officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday and after 9 am Thursday. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery. Online condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
