Fred H. Holwager

Fred H. Holwager, 87, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana. He was born on November 23, 1931 in Jefferson County, Indiana, the son of the late Charles R. Holwager and Ruby B. (Marshall) Holwager. Fred was a retired from quality control at the old Arvin's Industries in Columbus, Indiana, where he worked for 38 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member at the American Legion Post # 89 in Seymour, Indiana and always enjoyed being outdoors. Fred was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Holwager; his second wife, Nadeane Marie Holwager and two brothers, Jim and Glenn Holwager. Survivors include a son, Joseph Holwager of Scottsburg, Indiana; five daughters, Lana Bennett and Donna Christian both of Seymour, Indiana, Lena Smith of Columbus, Indiana, Darlene Burdine and her husband Dwight of Edinburgh, Indiana and Mary Holwager of Austin, Indiana; five brothers, George Holwager of Commiskey, Indiana, Bob Holwager of Brunswick, Georgia, John, Joe and Roy Holwager all of Columbus, Indiana; three sisters, Mary Lou Daughtery of Indianapolis, Indiana, Emma Jo Mack and Mabel Harrison both of Madison, Indiana; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Monday, December 31, 2018 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Sunday and after 9 am Monday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment with military services will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
