West Nile alert

Washington County Health Department official, Chris Boling reports that the state entomologist has contacted him about a positive result for West Nile in the county.

If the county receives the rain that is forecast for Saturday and the temperatures remain in the 70’s, he will be dragging out the mosquito spray, which he has already put away for storage, and treating areas of standing water.

To help prevent mosquitoes from gathering, empty any standing water that collects after the rain. A good frost should help stop the threat of West Nile.
