INDOT Ready to Handle Potential Accumulating Snow Thursday and Friday

Southeast Indiana - The Indiana Department of Transportation spent Wednesday pretreating highways in preparation for the potential of 1-3 inches of snow expected to impact Southeast Indiana beginning Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.

Drivers will be on patrol across the region beginning about 2 p.m. Thursday to plow snow and treat roads with salt until conditions improve.

Motorists should remember to slow down when driving in winter weather conditions. Leave early, expect delays, and allow more time to reach your destination. Be on the look out for INDOT yellow trucks and give plow truck drivers plenty of room to complete their routes.

Motorists can learn about highway work zones and other traffic alerts at indot.carsprogram.org, 1-800-261-ROAD (7623) or 511 from a mobile phone.
