Primary Election update

The voting machines were tested and are ready to go. The primary election, however, may be on hold. In a press release from Washington County Clerk, Stephanie Rockey, she said she is in constant contact with the Indiana Election board, as they continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and how it could effect local elections.

She said, "We are receiving continuing guidance from the Indiana Election division regarding the 2020 primary election. We are currently taking requests for absentee by mail applications for absentee voting which, at this time, is the best option. You may call our Elections and Voter Services offices at 812-883-5748 X1128 to request yours today. Actual ballots will start going out on March 20.
