Don Edward Colglazier
Don Edward Colglazier, age 88, passed away on January 23, 2024 at Arbor Springs, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on May 9, 1935, to Chester “Pard” Colglazier and Mildred Davis Colglazier. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Colglazier, of 69 years and his siblings, William Colglazier and Warren Colglazier.
Don was a graduate of Salem High School and an Army veteran. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business from Indiana University and his MBA from University of Chicago. After a career in corporate business and then owning businesses in Iowa and Texas. Don retired in South Padre Island, Texas and later Bloomington, Indiana. Don was a long time member of active participant in Rotary Club and supporter of Indiana University.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Stanley Colglazier, his daughter, Joy Eaton (Jeffrey), his son, Guy Colglazier (Cathy), five grandchildren, Casey Morris (Morgan), Tyler Ivey, Laura Scullen (Steve), Sara Colglazier and Allison Colglazier, and great grandchildren, Blair Morris and Brynn Morris.
A memorial service will be held on April 13, 2024 followed by a graveside ceremony at Crown Hill Cemetery, in Salem, Indiana. Times and places will follow at a later date. The family suggests that memorial donations be made in Don’s honor to the Rotary Club of Brownsville, Texas or Indiana University Foundation.
