Carnival rides open THIS Friday at the fair!

Believe it or not, the fair is practically here. Frantic 4-Hers are busily completing their projects, the grounds have been prepared and plans are in place for the 2019 Washington County Farmers-Merchants Fair.

The kids are going to love the expanded carnival – rides open Friday, 6-11 p.m., and on Saturday after the parade until 11 p.m.

Three day advance ride bracelets are now on sale at Mid-Southern savings bank. These bracelets will be good for Monday, June 17th, Tuesday, June 18th, and Wednesday, June 19th. They will be on sale at Mid-Southern until Saturday at noon. After that they will be on sale at the Fair Board Office until Monday at noon, or until sold out.

The fair will get off with a blast with a new, free, event this year. Saturday at 11 p.m. there will be a fireworks display with the grandstand open for seating. (The parade is earlier Saturday evening.)

Nobody likes walking up the steep hill to get to the food, rides, exhibits and more. This year, you don't have to. Reserved parking spots are available – for a price, of course. $100 will get you a reserved spot all week long. Stop by the fair board office to claim yours. If that's not in your budget, don't despair. Shuttle buses will run starting on Monday, continuing through Saturday, June 22, from 5 until 11:15 pm nightly.

Reserved tickets for the following grandstand events can now be purchased at the fair board office:
    Rodeo- Monday, June 17th at 7:30 p.m.- Adults $15 and children $10.
    Demo Derby- Friday, June 21st at 7 p.m. - Adults $9 and children $6.
Truck and Tractor Pull- Saturday, June 22 at 6:30 p.m.- Adults $9 and children $6.

Please remember there are no dogs allowed on top of the hill during the fair, with the exception of registered service dogs and dogs entered in the 4-H dog show during show times.  The Fair Boards asks that you smoke in designated smoking areas only.
