Memorial Day programs

The American Legion Post 195 will have a breakfast at the Campbellsburg Community Building on Memorial Day, May 28, from 6 to 7 a.m.

Ceremonies at area cemeteries will be as follows:
8 a.m. — Smedley

8:15 a.m. ­— Mt. Tabor

8:30 a.m. — Old Union

8:45 a.m. — Livonia

9 a.m. — Claysville

9:15 a.m. — Saltillo

9:30 a.m. — Cavetown

9:45 a.m. — Mt. Carmel

10 a.m. — Hopp

10:15 a.m. — Legion Post 195

 

Swayback

Swayback Cemetery on Daisy Hill will hold Memorial Day services Sunday, May 27, at 1 p.m.

 

Washington County

The county Memorial Day program will be held in Crown Hill Cemetery Monday at 11 a.m.

Veterans Service Officer Kevin Bateman will serve as master of ceremonies. Guest speaker will be First Sgt. Shawn Edge, a long-time member of the National Guard. Taps will be played by Leah Scott.

Following the program there will be a luncheon at the American Legion Post on South Main Street. In the event of rain, the program will be held at the Legion.
