Colts At SHS Football Field

Indianapolis Colts football players and cheerleaders will be on hand at the Salem High School football field on Friday, October 18, about 90 minutes before kickoff for the West Washington vs. Salem game. The Colts will bring interactive fan activities, including Colts inflatables, a rally towel giveaway, games, a chance to win Colts prizes.

During the 2024 season, the Colts will highlight various community initiatives at five high schools and give fans a chance to learn more, donate or get involved. Indiana high schools to receive visits from Colts players and cheerleaders include Southridge, Northwood, North Putnam, Plainfield and Salem.

The Colts and tour partners will make a $1,000 donation to the Salem’s athletic department during their visit.

Oktoberfest/Cornmeal Bake Off at Beck's Mill

Celebrating the Beck German Heritage.

Music all day, spinning, knitting, crocheting, blacksmithing, tomahawk throwing demonstrations. Parking lot activities: Featuring Jason Hardin’s campfire beans, Cornmeal bake off drop off at 11 am to 11:45 am. Entry must contain at least 1/2 cup of Becks Mill cornmeal (white or yellow), inc recipe and in a non returnable dish. Prize will be given. Cornmeal can be purchased at the mill or Nana’s This n That Shop on the square. Leftovers will be served with the campfire beans. Flea & craft vendors.

Halloween will be here before you know it!

The Washington County Family YMCA in Salem is planning a trail with booths that hand out candy.

Approximately 600 kids are expected to attend the event on Saturday, Oct. 26, 4-6 p.m., at the YMCA, 1709 North Shelby Street, Salem.

The Y needs a little help with this event and is seeking individuals, businesses and organizations to take part in the walking trail.
