Green wins Republican nod in mayor's race

Justin Green will face Bill Ackerman in the mayor's race this fall.

Justin Green will represent the Republicans in the race for mayor this fall. He won the nomination with 259 votes. Ron Haendiges came in with 234, Christie Luckett, 89 and Robert “Bobby” Fletcher, 5.
On the Democratic side, William “Bill” Ackerman easily won over Robert “Bobby” Longworth, 99 to 38.
Long-time city councilman Warren Truck Jones lost his bid to hold on to the District 2 seat. Rick Stewart had 19 votes to Jones’s 12.
Jody Smedley won the Democratic nomination in the at-large seat, defeating Janine Lee, 354-196.
