C'burg festival underway

Festivities at the 25th annual Campbellsburg Country Festival got underway last night with a pageant.

15-year-old Mary Scott was crowned 2019 Miss Country Girl. Falcon Becraft was first runner-up. Abigail Chanley was named Junior Miss with first runner-up honors going to Erica Worley. Little Miss was Isabella Farmer and runner-up was Jayden Braye.

The festival continues today and tomorrow.

Highlights for Saturday include a skillet throwing contest at 10, the popular Silly Safari at 11, a talent show at noon, baby contest at 2 as well as a kiddie and adult tractor pull and the cowboy and cowgirl contest at 3:30. There will be musical entertainment and vendor booths and food as well. Bands include Short Notice at 7 and Kings of the Eing at 9. A fireworks show will cap off Saturday's events.

The festival opens at 12:30 Sunday with the Westview Church quartet. The highlight is the parage at 3. Historial/humorist John Hughes will speak at 5. The White River Southern Gospel Quartet takes the stage at 5:30.
