The county's ambulance service is now located on Webb Street.

The Washington County Ambulance Service has a new home.

The service has moved from its former location on Anson Street to Webb Street (near the Salem Moose Lodge). It is located in the building that housed Superior Court during the renovation and expansion of the justice center.

Manager Troy Nicholson said the new space is perfect for the service because it allows for all trucks and the emergency response trailer to be stored inside, reducing wear and tear on vehicles.

Nicholson said he plans to begin a community education program soon and he welcomes calls or visits from the public. He is typically in his office Monday-Friday during normal business hours. He may be reached by phone, 812.883.2921, or email, ambulance@washingtoncounty.in.gov

Washington County now operates its own ambulance service, overseen by an Ambulance Authority Board. Nicholson praised the board for its active involvement and guidance, saying the service is much stronger because of it.

He also praised his staff, many of whom have many years of experience. May 20-24 is EMS Week.
