Take a tour

County historian, Jeremy Elliott stands by one of the Bicentennial Bison. This particular one was designed and painted by Rita Roberts, art teacher at Bradie Shrum Elementary.

Join Jeremy Elliott for a private after hours tour of the Steven's Museum. The tours are being held every third Thursday and Friday this year through November. The cost is $5 for the up to 2 hour guided tour. Elliott is very knowlegeable about the history of the county and items in the museum.

A recent advertisement said this, "During the 1 hour plus tour, learn some of the significance Washington County had on the founding of the state, some of the significant people who have come from our county and their impact upon the world; and some of the darker events that have occurred in our over 200 years of history. Browse the extensive museum collection that was started in 1897 and learn about some of the more arcane artifacts amongst the acquisitions."

Call the museum at 812-883-6495 to make your reservation.
