Senior Center hosting spaghetti dinner

Get ready for spaghetti at the  Salem Senior Center’s spaghetti dinner, Saturday, Sept. 14. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The annual fundraiser has been named the Wilma Bundy Wilson Spaghetti Dinner in recognition of Wilson who was the originator of the dinner, as well as the main cook. Wilson died on July 7, 2019.
Gail Napier, director of the center, said, “Wilma was my right arm since the center opened. She came up with the idea of having a baked spaghetti dinner in 2012 and said her daughter-in-law, Lore Bundy, was excellent in seasoning it.
“We’ve held it every year since. Only when Wilma’s arthritis got too bad, did she not help. We decided to name it after her because she passed at 92, and we are going to miss her.
“This will help keep our love alive for her and all she did for the center.”
The dinner menu includes homemade baked spaghetti, salad, dessert and drink. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.
Also this year,  a variety of sweet treats will be available at the homemade baked goods sale. You get to purchase delicious goodies to take home and the organization makes more money for their cause!
Proceeds from the evening will go toward activities at the center. For more information call Napier at 812-883-4986 or 812-844-5494.
