Maintain No Gain ended up with a total of 15 teams and 267 participants this year. Organizer Tami Branaman said a total of 150 participants maintained their weight over the New Year Holiday.
“Unfortunately we were not able to get the results from Austy’s book store or our bookstore dog this week due to busted water pipes in front of their building,” she said, adding that having a dog in the contest this year was a fun twist.
The winner for the final week of the contest is Scott Early from Eddie Gilstrap Motors. Grand prize winners will be drawn this Saturday at the Annual Frostbite 5K.
Branaman said the numbers were really down the previous week due to the holidays. There were a total of 123 people that were able to maintain and turn in their names. The winner of the cup for the holiday week was Wayne Arbuckle from Eddie Gilstrap Motors.
Businesses that participated this year were: The Salem Leader, East Washington, West Washington, Salem and Borden schools, Knapp Miller Brown Insurance, Dr. Morgan’s office, Jean’s Extrusions, YMCA, Eddie Gilstrap Motors, Washington County WIC, Purdue Extension office, Vision First, Austy’s Books and Hoosier Hills PACT, for a total of 268 participants.
The annual Frostbite 5K will kick off Saturday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. at Anytime Fitness. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
“It is not too late to sign up for the walk/run, dress warm and come and join us!” urged Branaman. “We will announce the winners of the grand prizes Monday, Jan.8. Thanks and congratulations to all that maintained!”
